Cons:
Sometimes it was a bit hard to tell who was speaking. The narrator could use a bit more ( practice?!) in changing their voice for each character — it would help a lot with clarity.
Still, I ended up listening to the whole thing in one go. So yeah… it definitely kept me hooked

One of the highlights for me is the Australian setting: the accent, the humor, and the atmosphere give it a unique flavor. It reminded me strongly of Deadloch — that brilliant Tasmanian crime series with two female detectives, witty banter, and dark twists. If you loved that show, you’ll likely enjoy the same kind of sharp humor and emotional depth here.
The narrator is phenomenal. She brings so much life and nuance to the story that it feels almost cinematic.
What also stands out is how the book integrates real-life issues — mental health, domestic violence, prejudice in schools, childhood struggles — in a way that feels honest but never heavy-handed. The romance is steamy and believable, but it never overshadows the characters or the plot.
Even without knowing how it ends yet, I can already say this is one of the most engaging and heartfelt romances I’ve listened to in a long time. Highly recommended!
