Blake (29) was a tough one to like. Up to around 58%, she stayed stuck in her grief and anger, constantly pushing everyone away — especially Gavin, who was nothing but kind, flirty, protective, and patient. She threw stones (literally), flipped him off, shouted, shoved… and I just couldn’t connect with her. Her stubbornness made whole chapters feel repetitive.
Gavin, on the other hand, was the saving grace — the only truly likable character from start to finish. Unfortunately, Kade (Gavin’s brother) was such a jerk that I honestly have no interest in reading his story after this. It’s a pity, because his introduction could’ve been handled so much better.
As for the spice — it didn’t show up until halfway through, and even then it was pretty mediocre.
What did rescue the book a bit was the audiobook narration: Grayson Owens’ calm, manly voice is always a treat, and Desiree Ketchum did a great job making Blake slightly more tolerable.
Overall, this was a mediocre read for me — too heavy on the grief, not enough chemistry or emotional payoff. I was expecting something different.

Könnte mehr spice haben vom Anteil her. Hatte den Eindruck es gab mehr zu berichten über deren dramatische Schicksalsschläge. Jedoch wenige Taboos - oder vllt. waren es nur nicht meine und es hat nicht klick gemacht.
Für meinen ganz persönlichen Geschmack wohl noch nicht skandalös genug xD, aber insgesamt eine angenehme und schöne Story mit romantischen Strichen.
