Über diesen Titel
Ezekiel died on Earth only to be resurrected in the body of a Lich.
Well, now he’d done it. He was only playing the villain to blow off steam, now he was stuck in the body of one.
Trapped in a hostile world, Zeke must flee his former guild. The problem is, he can only flee into a holy kingdom ruled by the Church of Olattee. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Only his power is gone, and he must start over.
Well… Mostly anyway. He is still a lich after all and he still has his weapon, Mercy, which is more powerful than even he knows.
The real question is, is he now a villain or not? And will he survive long enough to find out?
Don't miss the next action-packed LitRPG / GameLit series by Levi Werner, the bestselling author behind World of Magic. It's perfect for fans of Sylver Seeker, Book of the Dead, and The Ritualist.
Ritualist is the closest this might be. But even there it's lacking the more important pieces.
Generally the Story is interesting. But the heavy "tell AND never show" flow of the Story, rather makes not as enjoable as it could. The old saying to show and not to tell ... is best given in Slyver Seeker and Book of the Dead. There alot of things are explained by showing us, how things work and why the MC are the twisted way they're. Very little Info dumping and very little reliance on Status windos and things like that help.
Overall i enjoyed the early Story, but i can already guess how its gonna be further down the line. Not bad, but not Good either. The reason it's not 2 Stars for the Story is simply the weird rush this follows. Side Characters could be so good, if they weren't aftertoughs and actually mattered. Interaction is wonky between the MC and any Side Character ... and don't get me started on the whole "I'm a good Lich, so the Archpriest didn't nuke me outright! Yay!" weird Starting Arc.
The only comparable thing to Sylver Seeker would be the sometimes overly cruel parts. Like how in Slyver Seeker there's a bunch of human sacrificing of "mostly bad people" by Sylver himself, but the other "bad guys" dont even hold back from getting pregnant women. Here the first "horrific" stuff is probably the whole "father and mother cultist leaders. Sacrificing their kids on spikes for power" thing. Needlessy cruel at times, to get the "those guys are bad!" vibes across.
Oh ... and the audio tracks have like 10 second pauses between each chapter. Which kinda ruin the flow of the Story. Chapters are fine, but most times its not needed to announce them inside a audiobook. It's just bad. Specially if chapters are super short.
In the end, the Voice Actor again is pulling one trough this. Johnny Heller is doing quite the good job.
Not to be compared with Sylver Seeker and Co
