Though a small town at heart, Lawrenceton, Georgia, has its dark side - and its crime buffs. Honestly i came from trueblood and the harper Connelly mysyeries, and A. T. is nothing like that. Googling later i found that it was turned into a tv series (every characyer obviously adjusted for looks) suitably for Hallmark.

I couldn't warm to the readerThe story is *solid*

The novel in and by itself is not as good as Harris' Sookie-Stackhouse-series but ok. The reader of this edition, though, almost ruins the story.

She constantly over-stresses even the most meaningless of words so the reader has no way to gauge the tension-level the situation is actually supposed to convey. The voices she gives different characters are either indiscernable or overacted.

First of all: I really like the narrator!
The story is good and, although containing quite some gruesome and violent murders, creates feelgood vibes.
Don’t expect anything like True Blood - no supernatural powers, no vampires, no magic, just Southern people.

This story is all right. The Aurora Teagarden Stories start beeing really good from the second book on.
