Eli Kovac and his daughter had everything figured out. They didn't know what they were missing.
At twenty-six, Eli Kovac is the Sidewinders' most intimidating defenseman, a single dad with a punishing travel schedule and a four-year-old who runs his life completely. He's been doing it alone since the day his ex walked out. He needs a nanny. Someone reliable. Someone Iris will love.
When the job she moved to Phoenix for falls through, a nanny position for one toddler instead of teaching fifteen of them seems like the perfect fit. At thirty-six, Delaney Rhodes knows better than to be dazzled by a professional athlete, but Eli might be the exception.
She told herself the attraction was manageable. Then came the movie nights that felt like something more, midnight run-ins in the kitchen, and the moment Eli stopped being careful.
Turns out hockey isn't the only place Eli is good with his hands.
Somewhere between the chaos and the quiet, they've become exactly what the other one didn't know they were missing. The question is whether they're brave enough to make it permanent.
Contains mature themes.
