An interesting story of a murderer who claimes insanity in order to escape death penalty. The prosecutor is a young woman who had to deal with mental health issues in her family before. Slowly the stories unfold, there are some twists and turns and even some romance (quite well placed, not cheesy). A good read! I will look for other books of this author. I also really liked the speaker. She did a flawless performance.

I personally did not really like the many untied knots throughout the story and at the end though, leaving me with quite some open questions...
But a great audiobook anyways

Was hat Ihnen am allerbesten an Plea of Insanity gefallen?

Die Story ist vielseitig. Die Erkrankung des Mörders, Schizophrenie, wird in vielen Aspekten beschrieben und verkommt dadurch nicht zu einem "bloßen Story-Lieferanten". Natürlich hätte man die Love Stories auch weglassen können, aber sie bringen noch ein Tüpfelchen Abwechslung in das ganze, ohne sich dabei in den Vordergrund zu drängen.

Hätten Sie das Hörbuch am liebsten in einem Rutsch durchgehört?

Nein, aber das sehe ich nicht als Mangel. Die Geschichte fesselt durchaus, bietet aber auch gute Stellen für eine Pause, an denen man gut wieder einsteigen kann.

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?

Für mich mit guten, aber nicht perfekten Englisch-Kenntnissen macht die Vorleserin ihren Job sehr gut, lebhaft, ohne dies zu übertreiben. Die (amerikansiche) Aussprache finde ich gut verständlich. Allerdings ist es doch gut gefüllt mit Vokabular (und Abkürzungen) aus dem amerkanischen Gerichts- und Rechtswesen. Am Anfang hilft ein Blick ins (Wörter-) Buch.
