Inhaltsangabe
No matter how hard I try, I can never drown the memories.
I miss alcohol. The craving claws against my stomach every day. And being in this rehab center doesn’t help. No one understands how it feels to not be able to save someone you love. I had to watch Macy’s demise. How she screamed for me to help her. I hear those screams. They echo in my head. A song on repeat.
And a patient here, Sunnie, she tries to make me feel better. She reads a damn book to me every chance she gets, and it grinds my nerves. Who the hell is that happy? She makes me want to drink.
Then, she shares her pain, and I realize her bright disposition is a mask. I find myself wanting to make her smile, to make her happiness permanent. Nothing is ever that easy. She and I have a common enemy. My nightmare has been released from prison. Her nightmare is the reason why he is free. I want to be done with the MC after they made me go to rehab.
But Sunnie deserves retribution. Macy deserves to finally rest in peace.

Rollercoaster of emotions!
Oh Pirate you might just be my favourite Ruthless King yet!
Wow, I had to gather my thoughts first writing this review as Pirate/Patrick, for me, is the most tormented soul of the club members so far. His story was also the most difficult to get through, especially the epilogue was more than tough to listen to. I was sobbing from the first page as it gave me that much heartache and anxiety.
This book is very emotionally charged, and I love it when an author can draw you in and destroy you in the best possible way. KL Savage writes these books in a way that they always give you all the emotions. There are funny scenes, moments that tug on your heartstrings, there are steaming hot scenes, there is violence, there is deep love but there is also so much emotional and psychological torment. So, this was one of the hardest books to get through then again this makes the writing so phenomenal.
Pirate has popped up frequently in the other club members story’s but what we know about him is that he always has a bottle of rum in one hand, a cutslut in the other and drinks himself to oblivion. In this book, we find out why. Reaper sends Pirate to a Rehab facility after he hits rock bottom. Pirate is less than happy as his detox makes those demons and hallucinations return, the ones he tries to numb.
Patrick meets Sunny in rehab. She is another addict, who has her own awful broken past but deals with it differently and hides her pain behind a more cheerful and rebellious demeanour. She sees the pain and despair Patrick is in and feels drawn to him. They develop a friendship and soon seem to depend on each other.
Behind all the bad and ugly there is also a lot of beauty to this story as Patrick and Sunny´s friendship develops into something much deeper and beautiful as in the end they become each other’s salvation and reason to live.
There are appearances of all your favourite Ruthless Kings but this book is more about Patrick and Sunny but don't worry because these ruthless bikers leave no one behind and are there gun´s blazing when their brother is in need.
Rachel Fuginiti and Tor Thom did a great job in bringing Sunny and Pirate/Patrick and all the side characters to life.
Pirate is not a standalone and there are triggers.
