Outstanding!
The story is absolutely fantastic, keeping you hooked from start to finish without a single dull moment. The tension never fades, making it impossible to stop listening. And the narrator? Simply outstanding! Her performance adds so much depth and emotion, elevating the experience to a whole new level. Highly recommended! Can't wait for the second book.

Tolle Geschichte, spannend bis zum Ende

Überraschend
Ich muss ganz ehrlich sagen,dass ich mir ein paar Stunden nette Unterhaltung von diesem
Buch erhofft habe und tatsächlich,zum ersten Mal seit langer Zeit,positiv überrascht wurde.
Die Story hatte mehr Substanz als man vielleicht von diesem Genre regulär erwartet und auch die Sprecherin hat einen hervorragenden Job gemacht.
Habe direkt den 2. Teil vorbestellt.

Gripping story with some nice spice
A gripping story woven around a manor full of devils and mystery - Phantasma. While unveiling the secrets within, the main character has some welcome development. The spice level is just right in my opinion. I enjoyed the speakers reading as it was fitting the context.

What a ride
Loved this book it’s really unique and one of a kind. It’s been a min since I enjoyed a book the way I did this one. I don’t want to say to much just read or listen to it. Better listen to it the narration is perfection!!!

Loved the plot overall
I really enjoyed the trials and plot in generally. At some point it was a bit much smut which pulled too much out of the mystery and secrets into tension between the two characters and back. The ending came also rushed. I would’ve preferred if it took more time in the end. Regardless I’ll continue with the second part. I enjoy the gothic world and storyline a lot. There’s still lots to uncover.

I'm sorry but I really didn't like the narration
I can't say I liked listening to this book very much. But I don't know whether it was the story itself or the narration that made me dislike it and I know how a book is narrated plays a huge (maybe even one of the most important) role- and I'm afraid this time the narration biased me and I can't give the book all the credit it might deserve.
Laura Horowitz sure did a great job for a lot of people but I found her way to narrate the male characters very annoying. All of them sounded too seductive to me (and I mean always, even in situations were it definitely didn't fit) and her growling all the time and stretching all the sentences and words- I couldn't stand it sometimes. Sure, devils might be seductive beings and this book might have a seductive edge (given the lot of spice in it) but well, this was too much for my liking. And while making every male character sound like a bad cliché of a pornstar she made every female character sound whiny. This might be why I found Ophelia kind of annoying...
The story itself was quite interesting and the games-and-trials part did perfectly deliver. It was dark and gothic and brutal- so everything I like. The ending came out of a sudden and wasn't the thrilling ending I wished it would have been (despite the plot twist, which I kind of expected at some point). It felt like the author rushed trough this because it was done in what felt like 2 pages. And it also was too easy solved given the fact that there were sooo many obstacels for Blackwell, but just like that Ophelia figured it out and that's it.
Maybe, despite the ending, I should have read the book that I would have liked it more
