Isabel Allende
Perla is a mighty dog who has two superpowers—making people love her and roaring like a lion.
When her human brother, Nico Rico, gets into trouble with a girl he refers to as “the princess” while the neighborhood is out celebrating Cinco de Mayo, Perla knows it’s up to her to save them both. But how will she do it?
In this charming and poignant story, Isabel Allende continues her series about the bond between a child and a beloved pet.

Kritikerstimmen
Praise for Perla and the Princess:
"Allende has created an appealingly wry, confiding, and easygoing storyteller in Perla. Rodríguez’s watercolor and ink illustrations . . . doesn’t lack for festive colors or community spirit. Good dog—and good book." —Kirkus Reviews
"Allende’s English and Spanish versions individually sparkle with wit, charm, and an engaging tone, and . . . Rodríguez’s use of ink and watercolor imbues the cartoonish characters with warmth and expressiveness, and the distinct personalities of the humans and the little pup make the world feel full, rich with possibilities." —The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books
