Über diesen Titel

Narrated by Jennifer Jason Leigh

Quentin Tarantino’s long-awaited first work of fiction - at once hilarious, delicious, and brutal - is the always surprising, sometimes shocking new novel based on his Academy Award-winning film.

Rick Dalton: Once he had his own TV series, but now Rick’s a washed-up villain-of-the week drowning his sorrows in whiskey sours. Will a phone call from Rome save his fate or seal it?

Cliff Booth: Rick’s stunt double, and the most infamous man on any movie set because he’s the only one there who might have gotten away with murder....

Sharon Tate: She left Texas to chase a movie-star dream and found it. Sharon’s salad days are now spent on Cielo Drive, high in the Hollywood Hills.

Charles Manson: The ex-con’s got a bunch of zonked-out hippies thinking he’s their spiritual leader, but he’d trade it all to be a rock ‘n’ roll star.

I didn't know what to expect from the first QT-novel in regards to writing style because although dialog and story are the most important part of his movies, they wouldn't be what they are if they weren't set in an extraordinary visual frame. So much of the OuaTiH-movie was the perfection in recreating this time and setting visually but instead of describing everything you see, he achives the same perfection in setting by letting the story float on a river of his historic knowledge of that time. That book is definatly the other part of the complete expierience of that story - not that you can't enjoy the novel without having seen the movie or the movie without the novel but together it's more than the sum of it's parts.

It's entertaining, it's immersive - it's just how a QT-novel should be, without having any idea how a QT-novel should be when you are going in.

This ain't Pulp Ficition!

Not many words need to be spoken About Tarantino and his writing talent. It’s brilliant and to see his transition to books makes his stories even more fascinating (characters and their backstories, flashbacks etc)

But the star of this audiobook is without a doubt Jennifer Jason Leigh! By far, really by far, the greatest audiobook performance ever. It elevates the story and it’s protagonists so much you don’t want to stop listening to them spoken by her 👍👍

You expect very much - and get even more!!
