I must admit that, as a gay man in his sixties, who had the luck never to get infected with the HI - virus, the tragic story told by Dr. Fauci, more than once moistened my eyes.
The second highlight of the book surely is the Covid - pandemic and his lucid perception of the Trump administration. Even as an outspoken non political person, he couldn´t help having a feel of disgust for these people.

Dr Fauci is clearly a smart and hardworking man. He's also a dedicated scientist. Above all, though, I'd say he's a caring doctor who puts his patients first.
I thoroughly enjoyed this honest and open account of Dr Fauci's life. As a non-American who had only heard about Dr Fauci in the news during the covid epidemic, it was good to learn about his decades of public service prior to this decade.
This is a great book for those who want to know the man behind the headlines.
