Listen to this wonderful reading by Mary Jane Wells. The inimitable Antonia comes to life as never before, the Duke is visible in the mind, his valet Ellicot too, as is every character in the book. In short, this fascinating story with its colouful settings in Versailles, Paris and London, and it’s unexpected twists in the plot, is pure enjoyment. If you think I’m raving, I am. This is my third time with this book and I’m raving. That says it all.
