Humanity is fractured and on the brink of war.

Story sehr solide, wobei mich Kaptain Wolf in dem Teil hier etwas enttäuscht, aber gut. Interessant ist das sie in dem Teil hier auch teilweise aus der Sicht der ESA erzählen, dadurch kriegt man ganz interessante Einblicke.
Gut finde ich die Geschwindigkeit in der sie jetzt immer neue technologische Raffinesse einbauen und das die Weltraumschlachten langsam immer mehr an fahrt aufnehme.

The story focuses around two adversaries, the good character versus the evil character, the heroic against the egoistic and psychotic.
Although this is fun and always works, it does not anymore reflect the intellectual level we in the post industrial and information society have reached.
I would welcome a deeper plot within a space opera: questions about the pluralistic view contrasted by the individualistic view, the meditative mind contacted by the rational mind, the outlook on society past any liberal and conservative and popularism trenches.
The only author I know of who developed himself in this direction is Orson Scott Card. I am not referring to his working style but to his broad view of our existence.
Maybe this doesn’t go well together with military science fiction, since this kind of story easily becomes a black and white story (who else do you want to shoot except a vilified opponent?!).
So, in total a very nice story with a partly modern mindset.
