I'm a huge fan of the "Fortune Favors the Fae" series. "Never darling" is not one of my favorites, but it is good. It holds a lot of pain and worry, it's not a very fun story, but it does have comfort and found family, which I love. The child is not two-headed (I don't know what's up with that description in the summary, but I'm not a native speaker, so I could be missing something), they're just a normal five-year-old, and I identified with them A LOT, which was probably a big part of why I enjoyed this story. I'm not quite sure if I like the ending - it does make sense, sort of, but it also feels like there are quite a few plotholes in the whole concept. I don't want to spoiler anyone, and the main story is a round thing, there's just a few... snags, here and there, if you look too closely. It does have a happy ending, though, which is the only reason I was able to stand going through all that helpless loss the main characters experience. Losing a child is an absolute nightmare which I hope to never have to experience.

This series is the best thing ever!
