For the Green family, it's going to be a summer of hard work, blackmail...and flying pigs!
The Green family is living quite happily on Deep Valley Farm until war breaks out. Father goes off to fight who knows where, the Greens' spoiled cousins come from the city to stay and someone threatens to take the farm from them. Just when it seems things can't get any worse, the piglets escape and the children get completely Out of Control. Only one person can be counted on in a situation like this: enter Nanny McPhee. But beware...Nanny McPhee is nothing like other nannies - and it's not just the warts!
With wit and warmth, Emma Thompson, writer and star of Nanny McPhee Returns, recounts one family's tumultuous summer in an audiobook that alternates between the story and a behind-the-scenes film diary, bringing a delightful and unique perspective to this funny and magical adventure for all ages.
Kritikerstimmen
“Author Emma Thompson delights listeners with spot-on observations about family relationships and working friendships. As performer, she presents an exuberant and enthusiastic accounting of each character she has created...Only the most jaded listener will be able to refrain from laughing out loud.” —AudioFile magazine, Earphones Award Winner
“All the magic of the movie version illuminates every page, but what is a special gift, is hearing Thompson put the book-on-tape narration world on notice...Having an Oscar-winning writer in Emma Thompson doesn't hurt things when it comes to putting movie words into the page-turning form of a book. Hearing those words come to life through Thompason's acting proficiency is a match made in heaven.” —SheKnows.com
“Thompson's intimate narrative feels as though she's letting you in on the joke… This good, old fashioned moral yarn is a delightful listen.” —School Library Journal
“…not to be missed is Emma Thompson reading her own Nanny McPhee Returns. In addition to the wit and warmth that comes through in the reading of the story, the recording includes the film diary Thompson wrote, which alternates with chapters of the book.” —LMC Library Media Connection
