Leider ist die Story sehr aufgebläht. Die Hälfte der Zeit hätte auch gereicht. Kate Mulgrew macht einen sehr guten Job besonders bei Bing. Alles in allem eher nicht so mein Fall. Logikfehler und dumme Hauptcharaktere vermiesen mir das Hörbuch leider.

The longer you listen to the story the more you'll get the feeling of deja vu.
NOS4R2 is a mixture of "It" with a good measure of "Christine". A Rolls-Royce, running on the fear and pain of children, providing for it's owner? Instead of Pennywise now Mr. Manx is abducting children. The sewers of It are Christmasland now. The bunch of Losers don't congregate but are more widespread and fewer in numbers, nevertheless, it's hard to miss.
In addition to that, the author has a weakness for being repetitive in his storytelling. I actually can enjoy listening or reading about the same incidence from different points of view. A lot of authors use this tool. But only the mediocre ones tell the same thread from different angles without changing the perspective.
If Stephen King would have written and published this very few people would not think in terms of self-plagiarism and "same old same old in new clothes". I am surprised that his son not only gets away with this but is praised much for his (not so novel) novel.

The book is well written, characters are flushed out and seem more realistic in a sort of real life sucks kind of way, I don't know how else to explain it, it's typically not what I like in books I have that enough in real life.

It's an interesting story but not necessarily my cup of tea. The pacing felt a bit off to me in some parts and the beginning was a bit confusing. Nonetheless it is a great book just not for me specifically but I can see that a lot of people would love it.

War ich von Heart-Shaped Box noch beeindruckt und konnte ich der Geschichte mit den Hörnern noch einiges abgewinnen so bin ich von No4r2 einfach nur enttäuscht. Die Geschichte ist schlichtweg unaufregend. Immer wenn es mal zu langatmig wird, werden rasch ein paar Leichen gestreut und alles wälzt sich so dahin.

Da hilft es nicht, dass die Charaktere toll entwickelt sind, die Figuren bis ins letzte Quentchen durchdacht und ausgearbeitet, dass wir in aller Leute Psyche blicken dürfen und die Geschichte dabei am Rande dahintröpfelt.

Stephen King kann ich fast nicht mehr lesen weil seine Geschichten in der dichten Charakter-Atmosphäre zu verschwinden drohen - sein Sohn ist auf dem selben Weg, auch wenn dieses Buch tatsächlich noch als unterhaltsam durchgeht. Wenn die Sache sich so weiterentwickelt, wars das Herr Hill. Die Familie King versucht meiner Meinung nach anstatt einen durchdachten Rahmen gut zu beschreiben, sich immer mehr auf die Charaktere zu beschränken. Chraraktere und Figuren sind wichtig, keine Frage - aber es reicht ab und an einfach zu erklären warum jemand etwas tut, ich muss nicht unbedingt auch noch verstehen, warum er 10 andere Dinge nicht tut, und mit welch traumatischem Erlebnis aus der Kindheit das alles begründet ist - wobei letzteres ja ohnehin nur angedeutet wird... Wenn man einen Charakter zu krude macht und dass auch noch so detailliert beschreibt, bleibt die Fantasie beim Lesen leider auf der Strecke.
