Intriguing story, set in beautiful landscape.
Makes me sorry I never got to that part of the green island.
Kept me on my toes through out.

Volume 1 had been really good but the narrator was so bad I couldn't finish the book. After getting volume 2 as a present I decided to give it a go. But instead of picking a better narrator (preferably a native Irish person instead of an American who should be sued for crimes against the Irish English language) Carlene O'Connor basically seems to adapt the low quality of the narrator. I've loved her books for years, but this one makes no sense at all.
So we've got a flat Irish story narrated by an American trying to sound Dublin Northside when impersonating Galway figures and saying things like Kitt Milly Foalshee.
Waste of time.
