Mrs Zant has recently lost her beloved husband, and while walking in the Kensington Gardens, the spot where she and her deceased husband declared their love for each other, she feels his presence trying to warn her of some coming danger.
Mr Rayburn witnesses it all, and he'll have to fight his own incredulity regarding the supernatural and his gut feeling that the disturbed young woman is telling the truth.
Brought to life by Golden Globe Award-winning actress Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Mrs Zant is the perfect Victorian ghost story.

Charming Victorian Ghost Story
Wilkie Collins is one of the most popular Victorian writers and some of his novels are still fun to read. He probably invented the mistery thriller and ghosts became his trade mark. "Mrs.Zant and the Ghost" is a typical example of that.
The story has all the ingredients of a modern soap opera: A frail and grief stricken young widow, who cannot get over the death of her beloved husband, a mischievous, villainous brother in law with very bad intentions and of course the young, honest gentleman, a widower himself with a lovely little daughter, who plays the role of the knight in shining armor. It is easy to predict, where this will go, but Mrs.Zant's ghost adds some spice to it.
The story is beautifully told and the prose has the typical Victorian touch and this patina gives the story all its charm. Of course this is not a thriller to be matched against a Stephen King novel, but it is pleasant to read and quite entertaining.
