2012 marks the 60th Anniversary of the publication of C.S.Lewis’s classic, Mere Christianity. Having sold over half a million copies in the UK alone, his overview of Christianity has been imitated many time, but never bettered.

One of the most popular and beloved introductions to the concept of faith ever written, Mere Christianity has sold millions of copies worldwide.

The book brings together C.S. Lewis’s legendary radio broadcasts during the war years, in which he set out simply to ‘explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times’. A brilliant collection, the book remains strikingly fresh for the modern reader and at the same time confirms C. S. Lewis’s reputation as one of the leading writer and thinkers of our age.

Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity’s many denominations, Mere Christianity provides an unequalled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to absorb a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith. This scintiallating collection confirms C.S. Lewis’s reputation as one of the leading writers and thinkers of our age.

Kritikerstimmen

“He has quite a unique power for making theology an attractive, exciting and fascinating quest.” Times Literary Supplement
“Lewis seeks in Mere Christianity to help us see religion with fresh eyes, as a radical faith whose adherents might be likened to an underground group gathering in a war zone, a place where evil seems to have the upper hand, to hear messages of hope from the other side.” Kathleen Norris

The book is full of wisdom, but I'm pretty sure that I need to relisten parts or even the entire book to really grasp it. I count that as a plus though.

Well deserved classic

This book has been very helpful to me. Lewis masterfully guides the reader/listener toward a understanding of the Bible that creates unity between Christians. I strongly recommend this book.

I loved the audio book. The author"s comparisons used to make the point were really easy to follow and to understand. God"s inspired work, unapologetical.

Great ways to make the message clear

Very helpful content, and a warm, pleasant voice!
Heartily recommend. C.S. Lewis points out many aspects of the Christian faith which the Christian and non Christian alike, may not have thought off, yet who are worth serious reflection.

I've listened to it several times, and am quite sure will enjoy it more in the future.

Short. Clear. Real. Pay attention and you will not regret it. “Complicated” things made easy. This classic is atemporal. Mandatory read.
