OK, Jenny Colgan is light entertainment and we know that. However, this book is just awful. The two main characters, mother and daughter, are equally annoying, the whining mum and the aggressive, self-pitting daughter. None of them provoke any empathy in the listener, just the wish to slap them both. The narrater tries her best but doesn't succeed at making this any better. A book that should not have been written.
