The audiobook 'Mating in Captivity' is a good starter to comprehend oneself and other behaviour when it comes to long-term relationships.
It provides many interesting examples of suffering in the small cosmos of couples, parents or even singles. They are well chosen to emphasise paradoxical patterns in our society under the surface. Nevertheless, only one advice is crucial at the end, to be emotionally with the chosen partner, but sexually open minded. Is it that easy? The expected advices or inspirations are missing, despite this. It left me with many not answered questions...

kurzweilig, schöne Sprache, tolle Beispiele und viel Stoff zum Nachdenken diskutieren, reden, philosophieren. Ein Buch, das Sexualität und Beziehungen in ein anderes Licht rückt und mit viel Leichtigkeit verdeutlicht wie sich diese verändern und entwickeln. Ein wundervolles, erfrischendes Buch!

“Mating in Captivity” is an excellent book and I recommend it highly. Unfortunately the author chose to narrate it herself and her accent is strong, which requires 100% of one’s concentration to listen.

I am a huge fan of Esther‘s work and found so much perspective and new understanding for relationships and our human condition. Really engaging, thorough, honest and her accent is incredibly charming. Feels like an intimate conversation!
