À propos de ce titre

Mercenary Kate Daniels tries to save her city from divine intervention in this dramatized audiobook in the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series.

As a mercenary who cleans up after magic gone wrong, Kate Daniels has seen her share of occupational hazards. Normally, waves of paranormal energy ebb and flow across Atlanta like a tide. But once every seven years, a flare comes, a time when magic runs rampant. Now Kate’s going to have to deal with problems on a much bigger scale: a divine one.

When Kate sets out to retrieve a set of stolen maps for the Pack—Atlanta’s paramilitary clan of shape shifters—she quickly realizes much more is at stake. During a flare, gods and goddesses can manifest and battle for power. The stolen maps are only the opening gambit in an epic tug of war between two gods hoping for rebirth, and if Kate can’t stop the cataclysmic showdown, Atlanta may not survive...

This dramatized audiobook also includes the Curran point of view story Soup.

Performed by Nora Sofyan, Michael Glenn, Danny Gavigan, Kelly Baskin, Robb Moreira, Chris Davenport, Emlyn McFarland, Dawn Ursula, KenYatta Rogers, Drew Kopas, Eva Wilhelm, Jonathan Lee Taylor, Tia Shearer, Ken Jackson, Bradley Foster Smith, Yasmin Tuazon, Tony Nam, Earl Fisher, Tanja Milojevic, Ryan Carlo Dalusung, Sheree Wichard, Jacob Yeh, Michael John Casey, K'Lai Rivera, Bianca Bryan, Colleen Delany, Debi Tinsley, Christopher Walker, and Alejandro Ruiz.

Wieder absolut fantastisch

This was a solid second installment. You get a bit more information about Kate and her father. You also find out about new magical creatures. The mystery is solid and interesting. If you enjoyed the first, you'll like this one. I'm just waiting for the payoff on the slow burn with Curran!

In terms of the audio, I didn't enjoy the dramatization. It somehow was hard for me to pay attention and imagine like I normally do with just a regular narrator(s). There were some things that were also just annoying, like making a person actually whisper something when it says they whisper so that you couldn't understand it because it was so quiet compared to the other audio. I'll stick with regular narration from here on out.

Dramatized is not for me

Lieblings Zitate aus Magic Burns:

Now climb, young grasshopper, so your Kung Fu won't be weak.
-

The vampire stared at me, his mouth slack as Ghastek assessed his options. I took a couple of forms from my desk, put them into the vamp's mouth, and pulled them up by their edges.
"What are you doing?" Ghastek asked.
"My hole puncher broke."
"You have no respect for the undead

-

Not only will you sleep with me, but you will say 'please.'"
I stared at him, shocked.
The smile widened. "You will say 'please' before and 'thank you' after."
Nervous laughter bubbled up. "You've gone insane. All that peroxide in your hair finally did your brain in, Goldilocks.

-

How much are you lifting?"
"Seven hundred."
Alrighty then. I will just stand over here, out of your way, and hope you don't remember to kick my ass.
He grinned. "Wanna spot me?"
"No thanks. How about I just scream verbal encouragements at you?" I took a deep breath and barked, "No pain, no gain! That pain is just weakness leaving your body! Come on! Push! Push! Make that weight your bitch!
