Twenty-eight-year-old Oryn Patterson isn't like other people. Being an extremely shy social introvert is only part of the problem. Oryn has dissociative identity disorder. He may look like a normal man on the outside, but spend five minutes with him, and his daily struggles begin to show.

Vaughn Sinclair is stuck in a rut. When his job doesn't offer the same thrill it once did, he decides it's time to mix-up his stagnant, boring routine. Little does he know, the man he meets during an impromptu decision to return to college is anything but ordinary.
Vaughn's heart defies logic, and he finds himself falling in love with this strange new man. But how can you love someone who isn't always themself? It may not be easy, but Vaughn is determined to try.

The storyline already got my attention on the blurb, I was very intrigued how that would work, Oryn’s and his alters being involved with Vaughn. What a beautiful surprise it was, what a special way their relationship evolved throughout the reading. I’m simply in love with this story.
This was the first book I’ve read by Nicky James and what a talent she has.
It’s always nice when an author can create strong and captivating characters, and when that makes you want to be part of their lives and world. But what this author did here was something REALLY special. The way she created 6 characters into one, all of that being told from another great character’s perspective, is something able to let everyone speechless.
Vaughn’s compassion and care is something so precious, and I love to read books where the hero is strong with also this incredible heart and that he somehow links every single part of the book together.
Oryn as his own person and all his other parts, with their own personality, desires, fears, emotions, was INCREDIBLE to get to know. The author in any moment lost the connection between them, that single line that kept them all together as a whole! That is something that made me very impressed.
This story is simply beautiful, touching. It makes the reader want to know every detail, but at the same time makes us so thankful for not getting too much information. I guess if more of Oryn’s past was revealed, that would be an extremely intense book to read, because of all of the other characters involved and how emotionally involved we as readers get with them without even realizing it. So it was truly on point, perfectly balanced when you needed to laugh, when you needed to feel the love or in those moments full of sorrow and angst.
I have read and listened to it simultaneously as I often do, but I have to say this was THE BEST audiobook I’ve listened to until this day. I hadn’t listened to any of Adam Gold’s works before, and what an amazing narrator he is. When the book started I was so positively impressed with the voice effects of a phone call. I’ve never had that before in an audiobook and I simply loved it! Then at some point, as the alters started to show up, I had to look if the book was really narrated by only one person. How incredible this experience was! If you have the possibility to listen to the audiobook too, do it. As I often say, the experience increases 100% doing it simultaneously with the reading, and this one is not an exception!!!
So not only Nicky Jones did an amazing job writing this story, she nailed it in everything else, including the cover choice and the narrator for the audiobook. I only wish I had discovered this book earlier!
I think everyone should read this at least one in their life, it’s incredible how you can see things in another perspective while doing so. I often read stories when one of the main characters have any sort of condition or disability, because I love to understand other people, other “worlds”. It makes me feel more empathetic, human, and it feeds my heart with joy to know these amazing people are somehow being heard, even if as for a little bit.
So “Love me whole” definitely gets 5 starts from me. The first goes for the storyline and the fact that this was an MM story, the second one for the amazing characters construction, the third for the audiobook, the fourth for all the people that suffer from DID, and the fifth for Batman. (Well, duh.. this couldn’t go any other way, right?!)

It is a great story, that shows that good and open communication is the most important tool to building strong and loving relationships.
l learned a lot about DID - which was interesting because I didn't think much about DID before. Like any other mental health condition DID is different for every person - and DID is mistepresented in the known movies. Most people with DID are not a threat to other people.
The narrator did a great job! I am in awe.

The narrator did an exceptional job of giving all characters it's own voice without making it ludicrous and I had no difficulties at all to dicern them.
An important side effect of hearing this story is, that you learn many things about mental health and DID and living with this condition as a person concerned and as a partner or friend
Thanks to the author for this amazing ride that has enriched my life for too short of a time.
