Die ersten drei Folgen sind spannend und überraschend. Sie machen Lust auf mehr.
Sehr schade dagegen ist der Sprecherwechsel bei jeder Folge. Die Originalität von Lucy Carlyle nimmt mit jedem Teil ab. Der letzte Teil ist zwar gut und ansprechend gelesen, aber man gewöhnt sich doch an die Stimme der Hauptfigur und muss sich dann zweimal umstellen.

Vorweg: ich liebe die gesamte Buchreihe! Dieses hier ist meiner Ansicht nach das schwächste Buch der Reihe, aber trotzdem ist es noch eine gute Story, die meiner Meinung nach 4-5 Sterne verdient. Was mich jedoch dazu bewogen hat, diese Rezension zu schreiben, ist die großartige Leistung der Sprecherin. Ich verstehe die negativen Kritiken diesbezüglich überhaupt nicht. Bevan verleiht den Charakteren unverwechselbare Persönlichkeiten und schafft es, den Witz und die Ironie von Stroud zu transportieren. Fantastische Leistung - es macht große Freude, ihr zuzuhören!

awesome story but the narrator changed her style of performance. the characters seem overdone even though one gets used to it in the end. still worse than the performance in the first two books..

I love love love the Lockwood & co books! This felt like a trip to my childhood since I started reading the books at twelve. Stroud is an absolute genius, I could probably read the books another couple times without ever getting bored!

The story, like every book so far in this series, is great! Dark and still humorous. But I found Lucy a lot less likeable in this book than in the first ones, and I think that is not only due to her jealousy and inability to play nice with other girls, but also a lot down to the grating voice of the speaker - the third in three books, who, I suppose, just saw the whole thing as a children's comedy and wanted to make everybody sound ridiculous. Pity that. But, as I said, the story makes up for it. So keep listening! Or just get the book.

The story was OK. The Lockwood series isn't as interesting as the Bartimaeus series, but I still quite liked the characters.
What made the whole story a blast to listen to was Emily Bevan's narration. I absolutely adored her accent and the way she told the story. I was smiling the whole time while listening.

Würden Sie es noch mal mit einem anderen Hörbuch mit Emily Bevan versuchen?

Absolutly not, Bevan's performance is utterly gruesome. I guess, based on the first two books of this series, that this book would have been perfectly fine, if narrated by somebody else.
