Great story, recording seems hurried

The story is gorgeous, especially part one. However, I am a little disappointed in the listening experience. There are hardly any pauses between sentences, paragraphs, speaker changes or even chapters, which leaves little time to process the thoughts before something new is introduced, and it seems rushed and breathless. However, I assume this is more an issue caused by the editing than by the actual reading. The reading itself was quite nice, although I must say I found the melody of the sentences pretty much always the same, with little variation (not monotonous, there was modulation, but the melody of the sentences was hardly ever changed). And sometimes I found it hard to distinguish which character is speaking if there was no significant change in voice or accent (like for Hannah or Aunt March, those were easily recognizable), which could have been made easier with more pauses. Last but not least, much as I prefer the British accent over the American accent (which also determines many of my choices of Audio books), I must say I found it strange when in the middle of the book I found out that it is an American story and the family lives in America, when all the while due to the voice I had placed the story in my head in England and my brain had to perform a difficult twist to match the scenes in my mind to the plot. It would have been nice to have the American characters talk with an American accent and the British characters with a British accent when they appeared. Despite everything, I enjoyed the story with all the laughs and tears that come with it.

Nette aber altmodische Geschichte

Leider schlecht geschnitten. Oft sind noch "Verleser" drin und es fehlen Pausen zwischen den Kapiteln.

Die Geschichte selbst ist charmant, aber manchmal über kurze Strecken unerträglich moralisch und altmodisch. Die erste Hälfte ist besser als dir zweite.

Furchtbar langweilig

Quälend langweilig und langatmig. Und vollkommen unrealische Sicht der Dinge, alles ist immer so schön, man möchte sich übergeben. Selbst wenn etwas "Schlimmes" passiert, wird es doch als etwas Positives betrachtet.
Sprecherin ist okay, nichts besonderes.
Audio nicht ausreichend bearbeitet.
Verschwendung von Zeit und Geld.

Klassiker

Ja, die Geschichte ist ein bisschen altbacken und moralisch geschwängert, aber Kunst ist halt meist ein Kind seiner Zeit. Ändert aber nichts daran, dass sie hervorragend geschrieben ist. Kommt eher selten vor, dass mir ein Buch so sehr das Herz gebrochen hat, wenn auch nur für kurze Zeit.
