Über diesen Titel

This isn't a game. This is his new life.

An epic LitRPG adventure about a family trapped in a game-world called Eloria with no way out.

Dave has been wandering through life for a long time. His day job bores him, and he never seems to be able to meet his family's expectations. The only escape he's ever had is his love of MMORPGs.

But when he becomes the subject of a test without even knowing it, he's transported into a game-world called Eloria with no escape. It's a frequent daydream of his; however, in none of those dreams did his wife and daughter ever accompany him.

Now, Dave must balance protecting his family with exploring his dream...oh, and trying to stay alive. Monstrous beasts roam Eloria; worst of all, an undead army led by the vile Death Knight.

He'll have to adapt fast and learn to cooperate if he hopes to make a new home for his family. And just maybe, along the way, he'll find out why they're living a life in exile.

Experience the first three books in a LitRPG saga perfect for fans of C.M Carney, Blaise Corvin, and Charles Dean.

Narrated by Peter Berkrot (Alpha World, Earth Force). More than 50 hours.

The story manages to incorporate many small pet peeves of mine in the first few chapters and it starts me of with a pretty bad feeling towards the story.
I would've refunded it if possible, but since that doesn't work it gets a review.
- The narrator and the story are too overdramatic in every situation, the ppl are not believeable at all.
- There're 2 adult protagonists one with game knowledge and one without, the story rewards the adult without game knowledge for pretty much throwing her hands in the air and crying for help with divine help only to create the seed for future conflict instead of them working together and besting their foe with their combined strength.
- The 13 year old kid isn't smart enough to know that splitting up in an unknown place (especially a game world) is a bad idea and his parents just conveniently forget to ensure that they stay together so the boar can attack the kid before the parents can intervene.
- The HP-system is almost in every LitRPG story a problem since it needs quite a bit of refinement to incorporate things like bleeding out, incapacitating limbs, pain, fear and other factors that can play a role in how fast an enemy dies.
- If you use a lvl-system make it believeable, a lvl 1 character is no match for a lvl 8 monster in any game and when an enemy with a lvl difference of 8 times gets killed in any game it gives enough XP to lvl up any character that killed it.
- Games generally work under the principle of equal exchange, the more time, effort and risk you put in the better the results, in this story the author makes it clear right away that you can get rewarded for nothing and if you believe enough you get instant deus ex machina to help you.

And so on, there were some additional minor nitpicks, but I'll leave it at this.

Just not for me

Dave is an idiot and gets more and more stupid, annoying and just plain unlikeable the longer the story goes on.
The other characters arent any better sadly.
The system itself isnt very consistent.
Overall one of the worse litrpg books imo.
The narrator is quite good though.

Meh
