When running an RPG session for her local gamer café, Steph meets Izzie. Izzie is electric: a punk, a girl who likes girls, and a hella good guitarist. Steph finds the punk life is exactly what she needs, she loves the music, the art and the fashion, but most of all she likes the girl. Entranced, she offers to drum for Izzie, forming the band Drugstore Makeup.

A hit in more ways than one, Drugstore Makeup compete in a battle of the bands before deciding to tour the offbeat punk venues of America. But Steph and Izzie soon find themselves on different wavelengths, unable to communicate, and wanting different things.

The story starts out pretty weak but gets better the longer it goes. The second half is actually decent.

The story is well read although at times I found it difficult to distinguish between thoughts and things said out loud.

thoroughly enjoyed steph‘s journey, her inner conflict is very relatable and the odd nod to the original game series is done very tastefully. I caught myself shredding a tear on multiple occasions and can’t wait for the upcoming LiS Heatwaves novel.

I've been listening to this audiobook at least 8 times now an it never gets boring.
Katy Bentz does a perfect job as Steph and it's a real pleasure to listen to her.
I'm a big Life is Strange fan, so I was really excited when I heard that Rosie Thor wrote a book about Steph's life after the storm, that tells us how she got to Haven Springs.
And when I heard that there's an audiobook too, that is read by Steph's actress Katy Bentz, I immediately bought it too.
I can really recommend this audiobook to everyone who's a fan of Life is Strange. 🙂
Like everything in the games, the book is written like a person would say things in real life and that's what makes this book so immersive and relatable.
I actually really learned something for my own life from this audiobook and that's really great.
10 out of 10 reccomendation for both. The book and the audiobook.👌🏻

Ps. I really wish that something similar would be released for Chloe and Max too.
It would be really interesting to know what happened to Chloe and Max after the storm, when they left the destroyed Arcadia Bay.
