There are quite a few perks to having that kind of following, but each month I put together a local community donation event and it’s my favorite thing to do. December’s theme, “Support Your Local Fire Station,” was no different.

Major Lockridge, the fire chief with perfectly styled salt and pepper hair, whose gaze sears into me behind those sexy-as-sin black rimmed glasses. Jasper Monroe, the easy-going one with the bright, inviting smile and razor sharp jawline. Wade Burke, an Olympic gold medalist in grumpiness with his broad shoulders and tan skin.
These three firemen couldn’t be any different from each other. So, how am I equally attracted to each one of them?

The beginning felt a bit rushed—the insta-connection with all three men happens within just a few hours—but the story focuses more on developing the poly dynamic rather than diving deeply into character or emotional development or inner monologues or plot.
But once the spice kicked in… holy hell. It was sexy. I do wish we’d gotten more one-on-one interaction between Jasper and Wade, though. After Wade finally gave in, we never really get that private moment between them, which is a shame because in my opinion those two MMCs were the heart of the story.
As for the narration: the male narrators were absolutely fantastic. The duet narration added so much to this kind of story, and all of their performances were top notch. Emery has a pleasant voice and her performance itself was strong, but I have to admit that the persistent lisp on every “S” really pulled me out of the experience. Maybe my ears are just sensitive, but it was distracting for me personally.
What bugged me was also that the epilogue had to be downloaded extra in order to get the closure. What I also missed was the aftermath of the poly relationship and how it developed for all of them.
I loved the bloopers at the end—such a fun touch. And James Cassidy clearly has an entire vault of hidden voices and accents…I definitely hope to hear more of them.
All in all, it was a smutty, enjoyable read/listen.
