The story is boring for the most part and the author seems to display a weird aversion to the word 'woman'. I know the author knows the word because he uses it once or twice. Most of the time it's just 'female this' or 'female that' or just 'the female'. Seems kind of misogynistic outside of scientific papers about animals... So, yeah. questionable and boring writing.
