This story about the youngest daughter of the Windham family kept me entranced from beginning to end. Eve has a truly awful experience involving a man and a horse that affects her life for years. (The awful experience is not described in detail, one gathers through allusions what happened.) Eve knows a lot about horses and racing from her cavalryman father and brothers. This creates a thread through the story that becomes more and more detailed and fascinating. The author obviously did her research very thoroughly! How Eve and her husband finally find their happiness with the horses they love is heartwarming and quite riveting. The narrator is terrific, he really brings the characters alive. It’s a keeper, this one!

Eigentlich kommt die Geschichte nie richtig in Schwung, das Potential der Protagonisten wird nicht ausgeschöpft und die Story zieht sich. Die Geschichten der Autorin haben immer das gleiche Strickmuster ohne interessanten Twist oder Spannung, eigentlich dreht es sich mal wieder nur um eine uninteressante Rahmenhandlung für sexuelle Encounter.
