Über diesen Titel

A work of art. A mysterious number. A secret worth killing for.

When reclusive artist Gabriel Quinn is gunned down outside a gallery on Oxford High Street, Detective Inspector Bridget Hart investigates the world of contemporary art, where paintings can change hands for millions in the auction room.

Bridget is convinced that the last words spoken by the artist - a mysterious code of eight digits and a letter - are key to unraveling the mystery of his death.

But when her ex-husband, Ben, now a senior detective with the Metropolitan Police in London, shows up with new information about the murdered man, Bridget's personal and professional lives are brought crashing together with dramatic consequences.

Geschichte unterhaltsam aber manchmal etwas zu vorhersehbar. Der Sprecherin gelingt es langweilige Stellen unterhaltsamer zu machen.

Gut gesprochen und unterhaltsam

I really enjoy Esther Wane and her interpretation of the charakters in the book, love to hear the next one!!

Even better than the first one

I started listening to this audiobook right after finishing the first book in the series and found the plot even better. Very original story and a likeable main character. The narrator is very good and I find her voice agreeable. The male voices are a bit exaggerated at times though.

Good plot and narrator

I still enjoy the whole Oxford setup - but I found the protagonist increasingly annoying and neither her gullibility nor her ex-husband’s lack of professionalism very believable. And that’s even without saying anything about the plainly ridiculous showdown…

Not as good as the first one
