Über diesen Titel
She's the daughter of a serial killer… They're FBI agents…
No one knows Freya is actually the daughter of the Cross-Cut Killer, America's most notorious serial killer. Living under a false identity as a detective is isolating but at least Freya's safe. That is until she falls onto the radar of Special Agent River Park and his team.
River, Oz, Elijah, and Jude have been chasing the Cross-Cut Killer for years. They're the best the FBI has to offer, not to mention unfairly attractive. They know exactly who the killer is but he's always one step ahead of them. Freya is about to change that.
When Freya's true identity is uncovered, she's forced to work with River and his team. All Freya wants is to catch her father, getting involved with not one but four FBI agents would be a very bad idea.
River and his team aren't prepared for the spitfire young woman who's too pretty for her own good. She's hiding more than scars, and a woman with secrets might just be kryptonite to a group of profilers.
Killer of Mine is a mature new adult romance with elements of enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, darker moments, and open-door spice. This is a why-choose romance, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book one of a planned trilogy but does not end on a big cliffhanger. For mature listeners.
©2024 Alexis Grace (P)2024 Podium AudioFreya is everything I love in a main character. She’s tough, driven, and keeps her secrets close to her chest. The more layers of her story you uncover, the deeper you’re pulled in. And don’t even get me started on the guys. Each one of them is loveable in their own way—though I have to admit, Eli’s Southern drawl in the audiobook totally won me over.
If I had to sum them up, I’d let Eli do the honors. Here’s a quote that spoiler alert is much spicier in the book, but I toned it down for you:
“You’ve got Jude. He gives you softness, protection.” I move my hand to her neck and collar her, squeezing just enough so she can feel the pressure. “River needs control. He’ll set the rules. Oz likes to watch, choreograph, but he’s gentle too.”
“What will you give me?” she asks, her voice husky.
My thoughts darken and I squeeze her neck harder.
“Pain,” I say. She chokes on her moan, her eyes tightening, the anger I feel pushing my touch to the edge of violence. I place my thumb on the underside of her chin and force her head back.
“Fear,” I breathe against her lips. “The thrill of not quite knowing if I’ll go too far.”
Seriously. Chills. There’s so much tension and suspense, and the final spicy scene? 🔥🤭
So, why not 5 stars?
The nickname “Baby-Girl” (just no for me).
No sword-crossing. It’s a why-choose; give me the full package!
That said, I couldn’t fault much else. The plot was perfectly wrapped up with just enough tease for book 2. I need it like, yesterday.
Oh, and the audiobook? Absolutely top-tier. If you’re a fan of dark romance, Killer of Mine is on KU and will be featured in the Dark Mode Stuff Your Kindle Day on Dec. 27. But seriously, grab the audiobook—you won’t regret it.
