The side characters romance was honestly more engaging than the main couple, it just feels like the author tried to fit in so many side stories that there was no space left for the pov characters.
Speaking of the pov characters, I hesitste to call them protagonists, the story just kind of happens to them, rather than them actively influencing things.
Overall it is just a strange story who doesnt seem to really know what it wants to be.
