Set against the backdrop of a newly post-9/11 world, Kali Yuga tells the story of two half brothers who could not be more different. Hugh is a forever-searching free spirit who worships the Beats and later enlists in the US military. Andrew resides safely in the bubble of academia and in a relationship that has long been in a rut. But when their absentee writer father dies, Hugh and Andrew are reconnected, and both are forced to look deeper at their father's influence in their adult lives. Award-winning author Deni Béchard constructs an ornate story that seamlessly traverses one brother's many past selves and another brother's continued stasis only to seal their bond in the end.
