I really loved 'Just for the Summer'. Loved the characters, the story, the setting. It was all really well done in my opinion. In her other books (the ones I'v read) Jimenez usually has some big drama/gesture in the end, that to me (especially in Yours Truly) often felt completely over the top. So I was very happy, that in Just for the Summer the whole story felt very authentic and relatable. It was a feel-good book with some real-life problems, that Jimenez dealt with in a really good way.

Loved the story and the depth of it. The characters are amazing, it’s also great to meet characters from previous stories again or hear their names and get the story behind it. I liked the twists and turns of the story, laughed, cried and overall just really enjoyed it a lot.

At first this book seems to be just a really sweet, really well crafted love story, but then — step by step — a story about trauma and the struggle to open to people unravels. Which makes the book sweet and funny and smart and deep and touching and educational at the same time. Loved it!

I love how Abby’s books just always have this deeper dimension, especially when it comes to mental Health and relationships. It’s amazing how she describes PTSD and other mental conditions, I feel it made me understand people who are dealing with these issues on a whole other level, and even made me find a few aspects of my own character that might be worth re-examining.
While the story depicts quite serious struggles and topics, it is also cute, funny and swoon worthy, while still being so real somehow. As Someone who has read nearly everything she has ever written, I also loved all the Easter eggs and cameos!
This is a great book if your looking for a romance that isn’t just sunshine, this book has clouds and rain and sun, but most of all it has hope, it has love, it has rainbows.

Performances were amazing as well, would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed the previous books of the series, but I think this is my favourite. I deeply cared for the characters and their journey. The story got deeper than I expected from what I perceived as a "light summer read".
It's been a while since I read the first two books, so I didn't immediately catch the connections, but once I did my jaw dropped. I will definitely re-read all three again to fully appreciate it.

Diese Geschichte hat mich -auch dank der wunderbaren Sprecher - von Beginn an in ihren Bann gezogen. Zeitgemäß und humorvoll erzählt, hat sie nach und nach alle Facetten meiner Gefühlswelt berührt. Von traurig bis schockierend hin zu nachdenklich, hoffnungsvoll und glücklich war alles dabei … aber ohne je kitschig oder unglaubwürdig zu sein. Für mich ist es mein bisheriges Buch-Jahreshighlight, das ich jedem empfehlen kann, der nicht immer nur seichte Lovestorys lesen mag, aber dennoch Humor und Leichtigkeit liebt 💕💕💕💕💕

Extrem gefühlvoll und packend

Auf dieses Buch hatte ich lange gewartet, und es ist jetzt auch schon eine Weile her, dass ich es gelesen habe. Direkt danach war ich ein klein wenig enttäuscht, mit etwas Abstand im Rückblick war es aber schon gut. Es gefällt mir besser als "Yours Truly", kommt aber m.E. bei weitem (!) nicht an "The Happy Ever After Playlist" und an "The Friendzone" heran. Diese beiden sind aber einfach auch schwer zu toppen. Wer diese beiden schon kennt und nach Abby-Jimenez-Futter sucht, ist mit "Just for the Summer" gut bedient - wobei sich dann evtl. anbietet, erst "Part of Your World" zu hören, da Figuren daraus hier wieder auftauchen. Ist aber nicht absolut zwingend. Es tauchen übrigens auch Figuren aus "Life's Too Short" und aus "Yours Truly" auf, aber diese Verbindungen erscheinen mir inhaltlich weniger wichtig. Insbesondere aus "Life's Too Short" sind es glaube ich eher Cameo-Auftritte, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere...
