    Inhaltsangabe

A weathercock has risen from the sea of Discworld and suddenly you can tell which way the wind is blowing.

A new land has surfaced and so have old feuds. And as two armies march, Commander Vimes of Ankh-Morpork City Watch has got just a few hours to deal with a crime so big that there's no law against it. It's called 'war'.

He's facing unpleasant foes that are out to get him...and that's just the people on his side.

The world's cleverest inventor and its most devious politician are on their way to the battlefield with a little package that's guaranteed to stop a battle....

    Discworld goes to war....

This is the 21st volume in the Discworld series.

I enjoyed it quite a lot

To be honest I enjoyed the first third of the book the most , with all the little details about the city and stuff ....very vivid :) I also enjoyed the rest but it gets a bit more boring (for me ) in the middle of the book - so I only opt for 4 stars ; I love the narrator though - it´s a pleasure to listen to his lively and still steady voice , nice timbre, not too much - not to little of melodic contour , and he manages very well to transmit the deadpan humor of Terry Pratchett . I will listen to more books of this series now as Nigel Planer is the narrator of most of them it seems , nice :) cheers

Unfortunately the last AMCW a.book by N. Planer

As one got use to all the lovely spoken characters, it's a shame that it's not continued by him. I bet a lot of people would love to hear the other AM City Watch being read by Mr. Planer...

    Mega gut.

Wir hören immer auf 0.9 facher Geschwindigkeit, Planer spricht super aber sehr schnell für unseren Geschmack.

    Brilliant!

I knew I loved the story, knowing Pratchett's work intimately, but the peformace adds another, ingenious layer.
