    Inhaltsangabe

The newest, highly anticipated novel from beloved New York Times best-selling author, Colleen Hoover.

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn't always had it easy, but that's never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She's come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up - she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily's life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He's also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn't hurt. Lily can't get him out of her head. But Ryle's complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his "no dating" rule, she can't help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan - her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends with Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

    Intense

    An awfully overrated novel

This novel is one of the cringiest reads I’ve ever come across!

The storyline is terrible and is basically based on coincidental incidents which makes the entire novel very exaggerated and unrealistic. From the silly names: Lily Bloom, Atlas, Ryle, to the the stupidity of the idea of a neurosurgeon who is very serious about never wanting to get married miraculously changing his mind within weeks because of a random girl that he meets, to the millionaire wife who randomly goes into Lily Bloom’s floral shop and asks to be hired and ends up becoming her best friends in about 5 seconds and surprisingly is the sister of the surgeon!

I really wanted to like the book, but this is my second book I read/ listen to by Colleen Hoover that ends being a huge disappointment!

    when you slowly understand

I personally think this is the best book by Colleen Hoover that I have listened to/read so far. I have never come into touch with physical abuse. And I remember when I heard about women not leaving their partners after abuse, I was like: What is wrong with you?! Can't you see, he will do it again?!
But after this book, my thoughts have changed towards these women. It's not like I wasn't thinking the same thing towards Lilly, but Colleen Hoover did an extraordinary job at also giving me the feeling of: "this relationship is so perfect, it HAS to work out! Maybe therapy can change him? or maybe love or the next arrangement they made will help?"
And this is just a glimpse of what women in abusive relationships must feel...probably not even a glimpse. But I feel like this book helped me in understanding them better.
I can recommend this book wholeheartedly!

amazing portray of an abused lover

i really loved the narrator and the first third of the book. the last 2 were pretty heavy so i wouldn’t recommend this book to just anyone. but, i’d definitely recommend it to anyone trying to understand why somebody would go back to someone who abused them.

    Gute Geschichte, tolle Sprecherin

Wonderful book! I found it very emotional and sincere. The topic is really important to talk about and the story is thought-provoking.

    3,5

This is a weird mix of a strong story, with an interesting execution and an amazing subversion of the same toxic love stories in other books that feel the same way as this one felt to me - but I did not like the cheesy execution and flat characters.

Cannot reccomend this book to anyone

This book read like a cheap soap opera-shallow and predictable. The reader’s voice for the for the male roles terrible. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

    I cried

This never happened to me before while reading a book. No more words needed, truly.
