Noa Tishby is an extraordinary writer! I’m in owe to the amazing work she’s done with this book.
This book sheds so much light on one of the most complex areas in the world.
Israel is a miraculous country and her ultimate goal is living in peace alongside her neighbors.

One of the most interesting books I came across

Anyone, who ever wants to know "Why/How/When/What/Who" about Israel, its history and the chronical development over 3 thousand years, as well as a explanation about the inner state, its politics, military, population and circumstances, conditions and results of these will like this book as it is a very hard and totally honest plus a almost impossible try to explain the most interesting, beautiful, mixed, varied and most holy country of this planet. I wish this book could come to eyes and ears of all Arabs on this planet, to help to pave the way to durable peace.
Noa wrote a benchmark-book in my eyes. Thank You so much, Noa!

A great try to explain the promised land

During recent events I had a chat with an Israeli friend of mine living in the US. She told me she recommends this book to friends so as curious as I always am i downloaded it. And I couldn’t put it down once I did it.
I wish all history books were written like this: informative while at the same time extremely personal and might I say funny. I for instance laughed out loud when the German guy didn’t „get lucky“ that night. Serves him more than right !
Might I just add that what he did is actually illegal in Germany.
Trust me I know : I’m German. Btw this isn’t the only part of the book where it did make me chuckle.
The whole book certainly put lots of partial knowledge that I had into place and perspective. I actually walk away with a deeper understanding of what Zionism stands for. I will admit that I had gotten it wrong so far.
I don’t want to spoil so I’ll just say : go and read the book! It certainly was an eye opener for me.
Can I say that at the end I wish there’d be another book to continue reading in this most wonderful writing style.

Sehr guter Einblick in Israels Geschichte, sehr angenehm und verständlich erzählt. Ein bisschen schnell, aber auf 90% Geschwindigkeit top.
Es vermittelt ein ganz anderes Bild über Israel als das was oft in der Presse gezeigt wird.
Absolut zu empfehlen
