i just love Katie Mcgrath so much thats all lol... but the book is like really great. i really enjoyed the story and i loved jane. :)

Beautiful and passionate voice
I love the voice of Katie. With her soft voice, she brings across so much passion. The story is interesting too. A good histrionic novel in an interesting format and with adorable characters, with some of them making you cringe at how very human they are. I love how the queer characters were treated. It's respectful and realistic.

Perfect Narrator

This voice is truly an Angel's voice!

Let's start with the most important thing.
The reader! I have been a Katie McGrath fan forever and hearing her soothing, yet unique voice for so many hours saved 2020 for me. I will definitely listen to this book multiple times just to hear her art of reading :)
The story is nice (don’t read it if you are homophobic or uneasy with sometimes heavy girl and girl action tough.) I enjoy a good historical book and this one was not the best I’ve ever read but above the average for sure. The words are sometimes a bit difficult if you are not a native speaker but after a while it gets a lot easier :)
All in all an audio book you should gift yourself with!
Ich hab das Buch hauptsächlich wegen Katie McGrath als Sprecherin gekauft und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Eine Vorleserlebnis der besonderen Art, die dafür sorgt, dass ich das Buch sicher noch viele Male hören werde!
Die Story ist ganz nett. Man muss historische Romane mögen. Ist nicht die beste Story, die ich je gelesen habe, aber auf jeden Fall über dem Durchschnitt. Nicht zu empfehlen für Menschen, die homophob sind oder für die die explizite Beschreibung vom Zusammensein von unter anderem zwei Frauen unangenehm ist ;)
Kann das Hörbuch nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

Good practice for non-natives wwitha fine story :)
So, this was my first english audiobook. As I'm not a native speaker (listener) I needed some time to get into it. It was quiet fascinating that I understood nearly everything that was happening in Bath and London, and only the essential that was happening on Borneo. Nevertheless, I liked the story that put me in a time long ago. The inter- and intrapersonal was described very vividly. And of course, the reader's voice, Katie's voice - the reason why I got this audiobook in the first place - is pure joy to listen to. <3
