Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive.

But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

So begins an investigation that will take him across the Discovered Universe, into the path of the mysterious Forever Man, and eventually to answers about his past. Along the way, he will have to contend with aliens, robots, monsters, bureaucrats and, perhaps most deadly of all, his own numerous flaws.

Written and narrated by BAFTA award winner Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie, Flowers, Black Mirror), not since The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have listeners been offered such a joyful, anarchic and insightful universe.

Very well performed by the author himself (always love that, they can deliver as its playing in their heads).
A smooth sci-fi story, that does not take itself seriously - I do not think it's comedy. It's very... human.
Because we are silly, we do ridiculous things, behave in petty ways and are - overall- hilarious if you look at it (yes, this was written by someone on the spectrum).
Not shying away from taking the humorous approach to drag us through some really intense stuff, Mr. Rigby created a wonderful universe.
Please, Mr. Rigby, I'd like to have a round two.

Loved it from the start.
The humor dragged me into the story - which is not too complex, but together with the moor I totally loved the audiobook.
The style reminded me on „Will save the galaxy for food“.
The narrator does a great job.
I hope further books will follow.

Witty funny sarcastic. And a good story. I liked the sound effects, they contribute to the atmosphere as they are also a bit mocking everything.

Ich musste sehr oft lachen beim Hören - nicht über die eigentliche Geschichte, die ganz gut, aber auch ein bisschen verwirrend ist, sondern über die vielen lustigen Ideen, mit denen Rigby sein Discovered Universe bestückt hat! Viele davon auch unterschwellig gesellschaftskritisch.
Das Ende ist sehr offen, ich hoffe, es gibt eine Fortsetzung!

Das war aber mal ein richtiger Genuss! Nach viermaligem Hören habe ich wirklich alle Witze und die Komik aller Szenen komplett genossen und kann dieses Hörbuch wirklich jedem empfehlen der auch Douglas Adams genießt.

Really good, an unexpected pleasure to listen to with a fun story. Would totally like a sequel, maybe one without the sound effects though.

…if it weren’t, I would have found this treasure when it was published. If you enjoyed Manhattan 2058, The automatic Detective and Project Hail Mary you will love this rich clever plot seasoned with loads of British banter and humour. Although I usually dislike audio drama I actually enjoyed the different voices and sound effects. Looking forward to the sequel.
