While the dungeon diving and little romance are still nice to read, I can’t help but but find this part slightly unsatisfying. Jack, now a king, is too much of a pushover while interacting with a character that is openly insulting and abusing him and many others. As someone intending to lead npc-humanity, thats rather disappointing acting. Haley, originally an intriguingly sharp character somehow turns into some kind of preacher only saying „this world is ours“ over and over throughout the novel. And Arin, one of the only interesting and decisive new characters, gets screwed over and thrown aside by the main cast and the story for standing up to the obvious tyrant.
