It's also supposed to be sort of like a flow of consciousness, just like less than zero. Unfortunately it lacks the originality that the first book had. Instead, the author leans a lot more on trying to shock the audience with violence that seems as it came directly from American psycho. In my opinion the violence seems out of place in this book and only present here because American psycho was so popular. The story itself dissapointed me quite a bit, it's basically the cliché story of influencional man meets young woman who wants something from him and he uses her. Clay was the biggest nihilist in the history of literature, all of a sudden he starts to care about people? Feels a little forced.
Definitely not the best bret easton ellis book.
