Eine sehr unterschiedliche Sammlung von Eindrücken, Gedanken, Geschichten und Ideen. Mal nachdenklich, mal sarkastisch, mal verträumt, manchmal albern, aber immer treffend und echt. Es gab mehrere Stellen an denen ich Tränen gelacht habe (the garbage disposal). Ich kann dieses Hörbuch uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Eine sehr vergnügliche Reise zurück nach Amerika

Fantastic short columns, occasional a dull one (or just not my taste, like the tax return) but overall full of positive sarcasm, and parts that made me burst out in laughter "en plein publique" (of course with my I-pod, so I made everybody wonder what could be so funny!) Suggestion? YES! Listen and laugh! (or at least smile!)

Looking at Life in the US with the outside perspective of a newcomer to the country who is at the same time a born American coming back is interesting - and fun, especially when Bill Bryson applies his linguistic wit.I enjoyed it.
