Eine Wohlfühlgeschichte mit netten Charakteren die sympathisch und ansprechend sind.
Man hätte an der ein oder anderen Stelle noch ein bisschen mehr Drama einbauen können.
Es ich schade fand dass an bestimmten Stellen zu schnell überblendet wurde. So hätte man die gemeinsame Nacht nicht so kurz halten müssen und auch den Tag danach mehr ausschmücken können. Erinnerte ein bisschen an Filme bei denen wenn es hot wurde das Licht ausgemacht wurde.

After absolutely loving The New Guy, I immediately dove into this book in the series—and honestly? I think Sarina Bowen has officially become one of my go-to comfort-read authors.

After book one, my expectations were high. The main characters were so lovable that I was genuinely hoping this story would deliver—and it absolutely did.

I adored Carter and Tommaso. Especially Carter. His quirks, hilarious sense of humor, romantic heart, and down-to-earth personality completely won me over. He was such a deeply layered character. Watching him struggle simultaneously with his personal life, failing business, financial downfall—and being legit homeless—was heartbreaking. My heart ached for him throughout most of the book.

Tommaso, on the other hand, was this burly, manly, broody, quiet giant of an athlete—clearly carrying far more depth than he allowed anyone to see… except Carter. His struggles with his mother’s illness and his inner conflict about being gay while not out were genuinely tragic and emotionally heavy. It was incredibly gratifying to watch him slowly open up to Carter, one day at a time.

Their banter in the beginning was adorable and genuinely funny. They complemented each other perfectly—both emotionally and personality-wise. Tommaso knowing absolutely nothing about interior design, while Carter was completely clueless about hockey, was refreshing and made them both feel relatable and real.

The slow burn was well done, but here’s my one critique:
While the spice was there, it was even less frequent than in book one and not quite as steamy. Given the buildup, I was hoping for a slightly bigger payoff. That said, this was my only real letdown in an otherwise strong story.

Now… the narration.
Once again—Teddy Hamilton. Please say no more. Pair him with Jacob Morgan, and it’s pretty much a guaranteed good time—aaand it absolutely was. I loved every second of this audiobook.

My only minor note is that Jacob Morgan’s voice or his interpretation didn’t fully match the gruff, ultra-burly exterior of Tommaso for me personally. I know Tommaso is a soft-hearted bear beneath the surface, but this is purely my subjective take. Regardless, the performance was still excellent, and I was completely immersed.

Loved it. Enjoyed it. Couldn’t stop listening.
Another comforting, emotional, character-driven romance that reminds me why I love this genre so much.

A Comfort Read with Heart, Humor & Healing

I really liked the charakters. And I enjoyed the speakers very much. First of all the way the speaker spoke out Tomassos thoughts after that scene in which they bought the Christmas tree and the seller flirted with Carter: "I couldn´t blame him. But I didn´t like it." I was laughing so hard.
Okay it´s right, maybe there could have been a little more drama. But so what? It´s a feel good story that made me smile and grin and laugh so much. And it is really not as if the light is always switched off when it comes to the sex scenes. Not at all.
Just enjoy it.
