This book was very touching. It gave an interesting insight into another world. A beautiful story.

As a passing trans girl in her late teens this book was enriching to say the least.

It brought up a lot of memories. Good and bad.
Made me feel scared.
Made me feel happy & free.
Made me feel like I wanted to d!3 again.
Made me feel healed.

The ending was more than perfect and it makes me wonder whats in store for me.

I recommend this book to all trans girls who have been out for a while and have already healed from the majority of trauma that being trans in this society inflicts upon us, or makes us inflict on ourselves.

Beautifully honest

This was the first book with a transwoman I have ever picked up. I listen to this in the bus and train while commuting to work and cried like a baby but I didn't care because this story touched my heart. The southern accent was wonderful as well but since I'm not Southern nor American I can't say for sure if they weren't a little over the top at points.

The authors note at the end was important so please listen to it as well

„If I was your girl“ ist eine wunderschöne, traurige und wichtige Geschichte über ein Mädchen, das es verdient hat glücklich zu sein. Das amerikanische Englisch ist gut verständlich und die Sprecherin kann die Gefühle toll vermitteln.

...this was SO GOOD! I loved every second of this! Read in a day! Some of this was a little unrealistic, but all in all it was very relatable! This book inspired me, comforted me, but also broke my heart big time! In the best possible way!
