I’m a big fan of the movie and decided to get the book as well. The movie is very different from the book, but I still enjoyed the story very much.

Beautifully written and read

I bought this audiobook yesterday and finished it today.
The narrator is just amazing, her voice fits perfectly, she uses differnt voices for different characters and usually I don't like it very much but she just pull sit off.
The book itself has a wonderful storyline, that ends just as well as it starts. The characters all seem like real humans with their flaws and their good points. I fell in love with them and I am looking forward to the other 2 books from the series. I hope they are going to get released on Audible soon. In the meantime I will listen to the other books for Diana. Because this book convinced me that she is an amazing author!

Amazing narrator - amazing book you can't put away

If you came to listen to the story due to Studio Ghiblis movie, you are in for a treat. The story is vibrant with life and humor, the characters are hilarious and the plot itself even if similar in certain aspects still will surprise you with its twists. A definite recommendation for lovers of a tale that will keep you laughing and cackling at times.

Full of life

I only knew the movie by Hayao Miyazaki, which I liked very much. However, I had read that the film version deviates greatly from the original book, hence my interest in this audiobook.

To make a long story short: The audiobook is definitely worth it. Unlike the movie, the book focuses more on the story of Sophie, Howl and Calcifer and less on the external circumstances such as the war that threatens this world. However, I found the character of the antagonist (the Witch of the Waste) to be more interesting in the movie.

As is so often the case, the book and the movie are two different things. Both have their place. This audiobook is definitely highly recommended. Kristin Atherton does an excellent job. Each character has their own voice. I am very pleased that Kristin Atherton has also read the sequels. I will definitely listen to them.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed an audio book as much as this. Well, aside from the ones from my childhood but that's probably a lot to do with nostalgia.
The story is as fun as everybody always told me and the performance really added so much to this. I don't know if I would've enjoyed this as much had I read the book. Might still buy the books some day but until then I'll gladly keep listening to these audio books :)

love the story as it is mixed with humour, a mystery and romance, with a strong female character guiding the way and showing how powerful words may be. cute characters and fickle shooting stars.

My absolute favourite. If you came from the movie: please stay and listen! It is different, but oh so good! I have read the book twice and listened to this at least twice. It is a really fun story the characters are just as lovely and quirky and such a captivating idea that waits behind the black blob for the door.

Movie, Book, audiobook. All have their place!
