Es gibt kein Buch, das ich nicht mag, von der Autorin. Das Hörbuch ist super. Die Stimmen sind beide sehr ausdrucksstark und emotional. Besonders Ivan wird super dargestellt. Ich habe mich darauf gefreut Ivan zu hören und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Werde ich mir sicher gerne nochmal anhören.

One of the best audio books I had the pleasure of listening too. The voices are rich and smooth, the story funny and delightful. But I may be biased, I read the book before hearing it and have loved it ever since. The first volume was great and this second one was even better, as it goes on were the first left of. I hope the third one will be the same.

A thief of my own heart. Aiden and Ivan are just the best. At first I was a little perturbed when Aiden seemed to accept Ivan without question, but when you know Aiden's backstory I could see where he was coming from. Everyone has their own way coping with things, Aiden seemed to be the "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" and "go with the flow" kind of guy. His general personality seems to be shy and cuddly with a steel core when it comes to the safety and health of those he loves.

Ivan is just hilarious. I was soooo looking forward to reading his story. I loved his personality and how he would do anything for his chosen family. He grew up rough and instead of turning into a monster himself he looked for people who deserved his love and did everything in his power to be the man he wants to be. Sure, his moral compass is a little skewed, but so are those of his family. He is the perfect counterpart for Aiden, risk taking where Aiden would hesitate, teasing when Aiden might be embarrassed or too serious, protective where Aiden is scared. And oh my god do I love Ivan's penchant of licking things. I had to laugh when Ivan saw Tricksy flirting with Aiden and went straight over licking over his lips and growling 'mine' in her direction, even if a little gross.

"Azarov," Tricksy greeted wryly.
"You've got to kick this habit of licking things."
"Why? It's worked well for me so far."

The progression of their relationship had an insta-feel to it and Aiden also questioned himself if he really was falling for Ivan when they have only been dating for three days, only for me to remember that they actually knew each other for at least 2 weeks by then and had practically lived in each others pockets.

"...You know I'm thief, yet you won't call the police?"
Aiden stopped chopping and looked at him levelly. "Yes, because the police are going to buy, 'He didn't steal anything from me, instead he bought me groceries and furniture, but I promise he's a thief, Officer.'"

"I find that birds no longer sing in the morning dew. I find that clouds have lost their shapes and forms, being nothing more than vapor and despair. I find the pep in my step is now just drag-marks on dusty road that no one wants to walk down. I am square being jammed into circle, and fondue is fountain of youth, which I shall never drink from."
A pregnant pause followed. "So, in other words," Ari summed up dryly, "you're bored."

He certainly stole my heart ❤

Both men show how resilient they are. Both endured a lot from the families they were born into and both survived and later on found their people and now create their lives.
I love the chosen family and how they welcomed Aiden.
I'd love to know more about Aiden's greedy relatives, their downfall would be great.
I am looking forward to the next book.
