When Thomas Matheson moves his family into their new suburban home, he's hoping for a fresh start, a chance to reconnect with his teenage children, and an opportunity to leave the pressures of his old life behind.

But when strange things start happening around the house, Thomas discovers something hidden in the basement: a starship, buried beneath their home for years.

Before they can process what they've found, the ship's AI activates, and the Matheson family is scattered across the galaxy.

Now Thomas must navigate a universe of hunted heroes, alien civilizations, criminal syndicates, and a government that will stop at nothing to claim their ship.

His family is out there somewhere, lost among the stars, and to find them, he'll have to become something he never imagined: a captain.

Strap in for an unforgettable adventure with USA Today bestselling Author J.N. Chaney and Matthew A. Goodwin. If you're a fan of found spaceships, family adventures, and ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, Honey, I Found a Starship is the series you've been waiting for.

Includes a bonus short story, "Final Arbitration."

Unfortunately while the premise of the story is good and the initial world building is fine, it gets harder and harder to overlook the glaring gaps in logic. The ships Ai is always able to do exactly as much as needed while leaving fitting tasks for the whole crew. Those tasks are usually also completely illogical. It makes sense that an Ai powered ship would have safeguards that require input by the crew. It makes no sense that someone is required to readjust shields or navigate and it makes even less sense that a completely untrained person is needed to do what the Ai can't. The characters are flat and everything becomes repetitive after a while. I can't recommend the book.

Good start, but getting worse
