Der Sprecher ist wirklich gewöhnungsbedürftig, vor allem wenn man den ersten Teil (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children) direkt davor gehört hat. Der Sprecher dort hat mir und meinem Mithörer besser gefallen.

Difficult to get used to the speaker, especially when you listened to the first novel right before. My co-listener and me liked that speaker more.

This is a great sequel to Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children. I mainly listened to this book, and the narrator did a fantastic job, but I browsed the book, too, not least to see all those peculiar photos which are part of the story.

There were a few surprises, and of course I had to buy the last volume in this trilogy, because this book ends with a mean cliffhanger. Btw, if you buy the audio book only, you can download the photos as PDF file, so you won't miss out on them. That's a great idea, I think.

More Peculiarities and no escaping from Wights

Ich schreibe normalerweise ja keine Rezensionen, hier muss ich aber mal was schreiben. Der Sprecher ist ein Künstler erster Güte. Sprache, Ausdruck und Umgang mit Dialekten ist der KNALLER! Die Story ist düster, ideenreich, voller Wendungen und einfach grossartig. Ich würde etwas vermissen, wenn ich dieses Hörbuch nicht gehört hätte.

Die Story gefällt mir immer noch sehr gut. Sie ist stimmig und hat einige gute Twists. Leider wurde der Sprecher gewechselt, der zwar die verschiedenen 'Dialekte' sehr gut zeigt, aber eine meiner Meinung nach sehr nervige Intonation hat. Wirklich schade, da mir der erste Sprecher sehr gefallen hat.

Cause it sounds nothing like the first one. Not just because of the different narrator (which I personally think has no talent at producing any tension). The story telling itself seems totally different. Bad sentence structure, lots of repeated words. Riggs certainly loves the words “and” and “which” it seems and tries to use them every other sentence.

Most of the read was a struggle
