When Felix lands a job taking care of a man recovering from severe injuries, he thinks his life may have just turned around. Anything has to be better than the place he's leaving. There's something about Lane that draws Felix to him and makes him question if this place could finally become a home for him. But when someone begins stalking Felix, he is left to question who Lane is and what actually happened to him.

Together, Felix and Lane will be forced to see just how far they will go to protect each other. Being chased by cops, kidnapping a man, and breaking into a drug operation seems to be his normal since arriving in Lane's life. Felix may be out of his element, but one thing he is sure about is that he doesn't want to leave, even if it costs him his life.

I loved the grumpy and sunshine dynamic and they are so funny and cute together. And there is a thriller element as well. Enjoyed the entire series very much and can highly recommend it. It bought me hours of joy.
Also: yay for tiny men. I get so tired of 6ft+ characters in books. Loved the tiny Felix 😁 (so in contrast the buff tall guy Lane was well balanced :D)

Well-rounded funny and snarky story with abit of a crime story. i loved the humour in this one.

Near the end of the book an Indian character gets introduced that gets voiced with a very thick Indian accent almost worse than in the "simpsons". Felt unnecessary since the character does inform us through Dialoge that she is indeed Indian and the accent only distracts from any scene shes in taking away some of the seriousness in the book.

Is it racist or am i too sensitive?

This story is great and Lane and Felix are fantastic. Their snarky personalities and their moments of sincerity and vulnerability towards each other are couple goals.
I will start the next installment immediately.
This is another series I found while following Joel Leslie around, he is a fabulous narrator.

Fireworks of banter

I am sure this is more a me thing, but Joel Leslies voice pushes multiple of my buttons, so that I can't concentrate on the story and only notice the things that bother me.
Which are:
- He sounds like he has to "force" his voice out (it sounds to me like when you do number 2) OR like he can't breath through his nose.
- Audible breath intakes nearly every time before he starts speaking.
- His voices changes the tone from low to high or vice versa so often in a single sentence or syllable, similar like when your voice is hoarse from screaming.
So do check the Demo if you don't have an Abo, I would be mad to have payed for this. I am not saying he narrated badly, it just REALLY wasn't my cup of tea. I am writing this in case the above things might bother you as well.

I really tried getting into multiple books Leslie had narrated but I had to drop the audiobook every time and switch to ebook. Which I also did here, hence why I can give the book a 5 star for story!

Lane and Felix are such a fun duo ^^'
